Installing

Download the SHOUTcast DSP plug-in here: http://www.shoutcast.com/broadcast-tools

Once the download has finished, you will need to install the software.

*Verify that Winamp is not running, then double-click on the installer that you have just downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions.

When the installation process has finished:

1. Start Winamp and open Settings > Preferences.
2. Click on “DSP/Effects” in the menu to the left, and highlight “Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP [dsp_sc.dll]“.
3. When you have selected it, a new window should pop up. You may now close your preferences window.
Configuring

This is the main SHOUTcast DSP window where you can configure the server, encoder, and audio settings that you will broadcast with.
Select the “Output” tab at the top of your DSP window, then Select “Output 1? under the selection box, and fill in all of the following fields: (make sure you enter the correct details in each field, or else you will not be able to connect.)

    · Address: IP address provided by Linkeas.

    · Port: Port provided by Linkeas

    · Password: You must enter the password given by Linkeas
Yellowpage setup (streaming server display details)

    · Click on the “Yellowpages” tab right above where you entered all of the previous information.
    · If you’d like your server to be listed in the SHOUTcast directory (on shoutcast.com), check the “Make this server public” box, and enter the appropriate information below the box.
    · Be sure to check the “Enable Title Updates”, and the two boxes that say “Auto”, in order to show your users the title of the song that is playing.

Encoder Settings (select streaming audio format)

1. Select the “Encoder” tab at the top of your DSP window.
2. Make sure you have selected “Encoder 1? under the selection box.
3. The Encoder Type can be set to either MP3 or AAC+ — our servers support both.
4. MP3 audio sounds alright on (and is compatible with) just about every media player on the market. AAC+ sounds much better and is compatible with most players, and work with us flash player.
5. In the Encoder Settings dropdown, select the bit rates that you ordered from us (or lower), and be sure that the option you select has “Stereo” at the end.

*Note: If you stream at bit rates higher than which you have ordered your account may be deactivated.

Input settings (select the input audio source)

Select the “Input” tab at the top of your DSP window. Unless you have specific soundcard input settings, or want to do voiceovers on your stream, select “Winamp” as the Input Device. As every soundcard is different, we cannot supply tutorials for the Soundcard Input, but default settings should be fine.

Go back to the “Output” tab in your DSP window. Make sure “Output 1? is selected, and then click the connect button. In the status box above the button, it should display a time, and then “Sent xxxx bytes”.

Once you have completed all the above steps, you may begin to stream audio. You may open any Winamp-compatible audio file in your player, and it will stream to our servers, and finally to your listeners :)
